Bhopal, July 23: Veteran actor Anupam Kher's latest film Tanvi the Great may not have made a strong mark at the box office yet, but it has succeeded in striking an emotional chord with audiences and critics alike. The film is receiving widespread appreciation from people across the country, including prominent public figures.
In a significant development, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that the film will be made tax-free in the state. The announcement came after the Chief Minister watched the film alongside Anupam Kher at a theater in Bhopal on Tuesday, July 22.
Kher, who was in the Madhya Pradesh capital to promote the film, had earlier met Dr. Yadav and extended a personal invitation to attend a special screening. The Chief Minister, moved by the film’s message and content, praised its narrative and declared it tax-exempt in Madhya Pradesh.
The announcement was made in the presence of Anupam Kher and actress Shubhangi Dutta, who plays a lead role in the film.
Following the declaration, Kher shared a video on his official Instagram account featuring Chief Minister Yadav, in which the latter lauded the film's storyline and its relevance to contemporary social issues. Yadav emphasized that the film does not rely on dramatization and delivers a strong, meaningful message that resonates with the public.
Describing the film as more than just a cinematic experience, Yadav referred to it as a lesson for society and extended his congratulations to the entire team — including the film's writer, music contributors, and performers.
Expressing gratitude, Kher wrote in his Instagram caption:
"Tax-free in Madhya Pradesh! Respected Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav Ji, I had the privilege of meeting you at your residence in Bhopal yesterday. It was our honor that you later joined us at the theater to watch our film 'Tanvi the Great.'
