Bhubaneswar, Nov 6: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday unveiled the Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha Yojana in three additional districts of the State.
The Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha initiative, geared towards fortifying infrastructure for the progress of Odisha, was inaugurated on the eleventh day of this ambitious program in the districts of Kandhamal, Angul, and Gajapati.
For Kandhamal district, a total of Rs 85.50 crore has been earmarked under the program, specifically for the constituencies of Baliguda, G. Udayagiri, and Phulabani. These funds will be utilized for 2099 projects spanning 171 panchayats across 12 blocks within these constituencies. Chief Minister Patnaik has also allocated Rs 112.50 crore for five constituencies within Angul district, encompassing Talcher, Pallahara, Chhendipada, Athamallik, and Angul. A total of 2796 projects will be executed across 225 gram panchayats within eight blocks. In addition, an allocation of Rs 74.50 crore has been set aside for the two constituencies of Gajapati district, namely Mohana and Parlakhemundi, where these funds will support 1662 projects distributed across 149 gram panchayats within seven blocks.
The state government has initiated the programme with an aim to enhance rural development across the state. This programme focuses on every Panchayat (local self-governing body) and every village, with a substantial budget allocation of Rs 50 lakh.
The programme seeks to promote Jagannath culture, develop worship places, and strengthen the foundations of Odia culture, all while digitizing the cultural heritage. The focus is on uplifting Odisha's traditional culture and merging it with modern scientific knowledge, thereby building a more empowered and modern Odisha.
