Bhubaneswar, April 8: On the occasion of World Health Day 2026, the RHTC Mendhasal under the Department of Community Medicine and Family Medicine at AIIMS Bhubaneswar organised a health awareness programme at GIFT Autonomous College in Bhubaneswar, aligning with the global theme “Together for Health: Stand with Science.”

The programme witnessed the presence of Professor (Dr.) Binod Kumar Patro, Dr. Reshma AS, and Dr. Priyamadhab Behera, along with Vice Principal Dr. D. Mohan Reddy, OSD Engineer Sameer Ranjan Panda, and Dean Welfare Professor Soumendra Behera.

A student debate competition on digital health awareness was held as part of the event, followed by an expert-led session focusing on evidence-based healthcare practices. Speakers highlighted the importance of dispelling health myths, adopting balanced nutrition, maintaining hygiene, ensuring vaccination, and prioritising mental well-being.

A major highlight of the programme was the demonstration of six essential life-saving skills by NSS volunteers, aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness among students.
