Bhubaneswar, March 10:  The Odisha Congress has taken a satirical approach to highlight the close relationship between the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

After organizing a mock wedding between the two parties, they are now planning an ‘Annaprasana’ ceremony for their metaphorical ‘children’ in Bhubaneswar. This ceremony is scheduled to be held on March 11. The term ‘Annaprasana’ refers to a Hindu ritual where a child is fed solid food for the first time.

The Congress alleged that the BJD and BJP have given birth to several issues in Odisha, including large-scale corruption, multi-crore chit fund scam, mining scam, exploitation of women, price rise, and illegal liquor trade.

Additionally, they claim that both parties are responsible for growing unemployment and have shown undue favoritism to contractors from outside Odisha. The recent mock wedding was part of their efforts to expose the tacit understanding between the two political parties.

During the upcoming Annaprasana ceremony, the Congress will hold the event at its state headquarters (Congress  Bhawan) in Bhubaneswar. They plan to seek the assistance of a priest to perform the ritual, and a feast will be organized to mark the occasion. The party invites the people of Odisha to participate in this symbolic event.
