Indore, Oct 2: At least 13 persons including a few women, drowned to death in MP on Thursday as a tractor plunged into a lake during Durga Puja immersion.

The shocking incident took place today in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa area.

The tragedy took place in Pandhana area when the devotees were going to immerse idols of Goddess Durga after Navratri celebrations.

Inspector General of Police (Indore rural range) Anurag said, rescue operations are ongoing at the incident site. As many as 9 bodies have been so far fished out where as scores of victims were rushed to the hospital for resuscitation. District Collector and SP are monitoring the rescue operation.
