West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to lead protest after ED raids on I-PAC Office

Kolkata, January 8: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee will lead a protest in Kolkata on January 9 following Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids on the I-PAC office over the alleged fake government job scam. The ED accused Banerjee of interfering in the investigation by entering the home of I-PAC director Prateek Jain and removing key evidence, including documents and electronic devices.

The ED stated that its search operation was disrupted when Banerjee, accompanied by police, arrived at the premises. Banerjee, in response, accused the ED of illegally seizing party-related data and documents, including information on electoral rolls, and claimed that forensic experts unlawfully transferred data during the raid. She defended I-PAC as an official team of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) and criticized the ED for targeting her party’s sensitive materials.

Meanwhile, the BJP condemned Banerjee's actions, calling her involvement in the raid "disturbing" and suggesting an attempt to cover up evidence.
