Wayanad, Aug 3: The state forest department Kerala on Friday rescued 6 tribals from the Attamala forests, including 4 children from the death-trap of Wayanad landslide.
A four-member team of the Kalpetta Range Forest led by Forest Officer K Hashis, on Thursday, undertook a dangerous trek deep inside the forest to rescue a tribal family which included four children aged between one and four.
On Thursday, Kerala Forest Department personnel were conducting search and rescue operations in the forests affected by a landslide. When the forest department personnel reached the forests of Attamala Forests, they found a tribal woman, belonging to the Paniya community of Wayanad.
As soon as the distressed woman alerted the forest contingent regarding her missing kids, the team conducted a search operation to find out the missing children.
Following a tiring operation for days together, the forest crew rescued as many as 4 children and two others who had gone missing after the nature's wrath, giving new leases of lives to them.
