Viral fever grips children in Bhubaneswar, Capital Hospital overcrowded

Bhubaneswar, Sept 7: The capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, is under the grip of viral fever with around 500 children visiting city-based hospitals daily with complaints of fever symptoms.

The Capital Hospital here in the city is witnessing long queues of children suffering from viral fever. There is a sudden rise in paediatric patients with symptoms of high fever. Around 300 children are visiting the hospital for treatment with fever symptoms, said doctors.

The paediatric department has 70 beds and around 20 children are being admitted to the department for treatment every day.

Around 400 children are coming to the paediatric department every day and over 300 are complaining of fever symptoms. Children are unable to suffer the pain and crying helplessly. It takes four to seven days to recover from viral fever. Parents should keep patience and should not insist on admission to the hospital with mild symptoms, said doctors.
