Bhawanipatna, May 19: The Odisha Vigilance Department on Tuesday launched simultaneous raids at six locations linked to Bhubaneswar Sabar, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the R&B Division in Bhawanipatna, over allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The searches are being carried out following complaints received by the Vigilance Department and on the basis of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna.

A team comprising six DSPs, eight Inspectors and other supporting staff is conducting the operation.

Raids are underway at the following locations:

• A double-storeyed residential building at Gosanimunda in Bhawanipatna town
• A double-storeyed house at his native village Kusumkhunti under Koksara block in Kalahandi district
• A farmhouse at Kitpadar near Bhawanipatna
• An under-construction building at Duarsuni near Bhawanipatna
• His office premises in Bhawanipatna
• Government residential quarters at PWD Colony in Bhawanipatna

The Vigilance Department said the searches are currently in progress and detailed information regarding the assets unearthed and other findings will be shared after completion of the operation.
