Kedarnath Dham Opens: CM Dhami Welcomes Devotees

Kedarnath (Uttarakhand), May 2: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived at the Shri Kedarnath Dham premises and welcomed all the devotees after the portals of the temple were opened at 07:00 am on Friday.

As a band from the Indian Army played devotional melodies for the gathered devotees, flower petals were showered from a helicopter overhead.

At the same time, the Panchmukhi Doli of Lord Kedarnath reached Shri Kedarnath Dham on Thursday, with chants of 'Jai Baba Kedar' resonating through the Kedar Valley.

CM Dhami shared in a post on X that the holy procession from Gaurikund to Kedarnath was filled with "reverence, faith, and devotion."

Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, CM Dhami wrote, "Today, after the ritualistic worship at Gaurikund, the Panchmukhi idol of Baba Kedarnath reached the holy Shri Kedar Dham. When the Doli reached the temple premises, there was an atmosphere of devotion among the devotees, the entire Dham echoed with the chanting of 'Jai Baba Kedar'." 

Earlier on Thursday, security was intensified in the region, with forces deployed to ensure the safety of the devotees. Superintendent of Police (SP) Akshay Prahlad Konde emphasized that the well-being of the pilgrims remains their highest priority.

Meanwhile, helicopter services for the 2025 Shri Kedarnath Dham Yatra began from Sonprayag in Uttarakhand, providing pilgrims with a convenient mode of travel.
