Lucknow, May 6: Amid rising India-Pakistan tensions following the deadly Pahalgam terrorist attack, Civil Defence teams in Lucknow has on Tuesday rehearsed mock drill exercises.
The drills, held in the police lines area, involved police, civil defence, and local administration as part of a nationwide preparedness drive ordered by the Union Home Ministry.
Chief Warden Amarnath Mishra emphasized public awareness on safety during bomb threats and blackouts, while air raid siren tests were also conducted. The drills aim to train civilians on taking shelter, managing crowds, and minimizing damage in emergencies.
DGP Prashant Kumar said all districts have been directed to coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure readiness.
The Union Home Ministry has scheduled nationwide drills for May 7, including air raid siren activation, blackout protocols, and evacuation rehearsals.(With Agency Input)
