Hyderabad police dismantled an interstate egg donation network
Hyderabad law enforcement officers dismantled an interstate human egg extraction racket, rescuing 43 victims during coordinated multi-zone raids. Investigators suspect various fertility clinics and biomedical facilities systematically exploited these women for commercial gain. B Sumathi, overseeing the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate, directed the operations across Saroornagar, Begumpet, and other regional localities. Preliminary findings indicate brokers targeted individuals from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and West Bengal, moving them into rented accommodations. Organisers promised payments reaching up to thirty thousand rupees per extraction cycle. Demand for oocyte donors has grown rapidly in recent years, creating lucrative black-market opportunities for rogue biomedical operators.

Medical Seizures and Suspects
During property searches, investigators confiscated numerous hormonal medications, syringes, and clinical supplies. Authorities apprehended eight core suspects, including alleged mastermind Amit Sharma, who maintained a high-rent operational base in Prakash Nagar for two years. Law enforcement officials noted suspected falsification of identity cards, medical consent forms, and sworn affidavits. Detectives are currently reviewing financial transfers and commission structures linking the arrested agents to established fertility clinics. They aim to determine if clinical staff ignored biomedical waste regulations or conducted procedures without certified supervision. Furthermore, police suspect the agents deliberately bypassed critical health safeguards to maximize their own illicit profits. Multiple criminal cases remain active under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Assisted Reproductive Technology Act, as authorities work to expose the full scale of this highly organized trafficking network.
