
Delhi, July 24: Union Education Minister on Wednesday chaired the first meeting of the newly-constituted National Book Promotion Council(NBPC).
During the meeting, Pradhan appreciate the bright ideas and valuable suggestions of the Council for nurturing and strengthening reading culture, enhancing quality of books and learning materials as well as improving availability, accessibility and affordability of books to the remotest corners of the country.
A first-of-its-kind framework, the National Book Promotion Policy aims to revitalise the books and library movement in the country. Book reading has to become joyful.
At the meeting held at the Ambedkar International Center, Pradhan suggested the Council to focus on embracing, adopting and integrating technology for cultivating reading culture and reviving interest in books.
