Subarnapur, August 22: Two minor girls were rescued after allegedly jumping into the Mahanadi River from the Binika Mahanadi Bridge in Subarnapur district.
According to reports, some people who were fishing in the river noticed the girls and rescued them from the water. The fire services department was subsequently informed about the incident.
Personnel from the Binika Fire Services Department reached the spot and rushed both girls to a nearby hospital. After receiving preliminary treatment, they were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for further treatment.
One of the girls is reportedly from the Binika area, while the other is from the Boudh area.
The exact reason and circumstances that led the two minors to jump into the river remain unclear. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
