Angul, June 24: At a time when the forest outfits & government are concerned to contain Jumbo deaths especially due to electrocution, Odisha forest on Tuesday lost another adult tusker.
The elephant death today, concerned the wildlife lovers and environmentalist since the tusker’s carcass was found in a well protected buffer area, that’s the Satakosia Gorge Sanctuary in Odisha’s Angul.
As the carcass is recovered from a solar fencing, the jumbo is anticipated to be killed due to electrocution.
According to report, the locals of Kulangi village spotted the giant pachyderm’s carcass in the morning and informed the wildlife Range officer. Following this, a team of forest officials rushed to the spot and seized the tusker’s charred body.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the precise reason behind the elephant’s death.
