Kolkata, Nov 21: A quake of over 5.5 magnitude was felt in the Kolkata City on Friday, wreaking panic for the denizens.
According to reports, the violent jolt reportedly spread upto Guwahati, Agartala and Shillong causing tremendous sound and fear in the vicinity.
Apart from it, several nearby districts in West Bengal also felt strong tremors after the earthquake hit Bangladesh on at around 10.10 am.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the quake originated near Dhaka in Bangladesh.
The quake also struck Dhaka, said sources.
No causalities and loss of infras have been reported so far.
