Bhubaneswar, Aug 11:A tragic hit-and-run near Patrapada has claimed the lives of a woman, Revati, and her daughter Reshma, while her toddler son Mahi remains in critical condition at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. The trio was struck by a speeding Thar on Saturday evening while crossing the national highway.

Police say the Thar was allegedly racing with a Scorpio at the time. The Thar has been seized, but its owner and the Scorpio driver are still absconding.

The victims had just returned from celebrating Raksha Bandhan with family when the incident occurred. Revati was carrying Mahi and holding Reshma’s hand while crossing the road when they were hit.

Public outrage is growing, and police are conducting raids to trace the accused. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
