Mumbai, Oct 10:
Kartik Aaryan’s much-anticipated romantic musical, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Basu, has officially been titled ‘Tu Meri Zindagi Hai’. The title is inspired by the iconic track from the 1990 classic Aashiqui, though the makers have clarified that the film is a standalone project and not part of the Aashiqui franchise.
Starring Kartik Aaryan alongside leading lady Shraddha Kapoor, the film was initially conceptualized as the third installment in the Aashiqui series. However, following a split between producers Mukesh Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar, the project evolved independently, prompting a deliberate move away from the franchise identity.
Currently being shot in Mumbai, the film’s production is set to continue through the monsoon season. The makers have targeted a May 1, 2026 release date, aiming for a high-profile summer opening. The extended timeline also allows the creative team sufficient scope for final refinements before the theatrical release.
Insiders from the production unit have emphasized that the title was chosen with care to avoid any direct association with the Aashiqui series. The team is focused on crafting an original romantic narrative while honoring the timeless appeal of classic Bollywood love stories.
With a strong cast, a seasoned director, and nostalgic musical inspiration, Tu Meri Zindagi Hai is shaping up to be one of next summer’s most awaited Bollywood releases.
