Mathura (UP), February 22: As Holi festivities approach, Mathura is gearing up with extensive security measures to ensure peaceful celebrations, especially during the iconic 'Lathmar Holi' in Barsana. To prevent any untoward incidents or disruptions, security personnel will be strategically deployed within the crowd, blending in as 'Huriyars' and regular devotees. Their primary task will be to monitor and identify any rioters or suspicious individuals.

The traditional 'Lathmar Holi', where women playfully strike men with sticks, will take place in Barsana on February 25. District Magistrate Chandraprakash Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar assured that comprehensive security arrangements are in place, covering the entire stretch from Barsana to Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi to maintain law and order during the celebrations.
