Khordha, Oct 1: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of three individuals late Tuesday night near the Khordha Bypass on National Highway-16. The incident occurred when a motorcycle collided head-on with an oncoming container truck on the Rang Route stretch of the highway.

According to preliminary reports, the victims were travelling on a bike from Pitapalli Square when the collision took place. The impact was so severe that all three sustained critical injuries. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.

Sources indicate that the deceased are suspected to be residents of the Delang area, though their identities have not yet been officially confirmed.

Upon receiving information, personnel from the local Industrial Area Police Station arrived at the scene, seized the involved vehicles, and took the container truck driver into custody. A detailed investigation is currently underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
