Cuttack Hosts Twin Cities' Biggest School Quiz
The ninth edition of "Synapse: The Junction of Qriosity," the largest inter-school quiz competition in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, concluded successfully at Sarala Bhawan in Cuttack. The event saw a massive turnout, with over 900 students from various schools participating in a thrilling battle of wits and knowledge. The English Quiz was inaugurated by Shri Bipin Bihari Rout, joint CEO of ORMAS, Shri Manoj Kumar Dash, Chairman of Dadhichi group of Institutions, and Mr. Samarth Mohanty, Founder of Dambaruu.
Champions Crowned in Two Languages
The competition was held in two categories, English and Odia, to promote inclusivity.
In the English Quiz, Swarit Kumar Swain and Ankit Kumar Swain from D.A.V. Public School, CDA, emerged as the champions.
- First Runner-up: Adweya Sarangi and Swastika Mishra of Kiit International School.
- Second Runner-up: Aadesh Mohanty and Pransu Prusty of Sai International School.
- Best Girls' Team: Sushri Suravi and Sahasra Susanta of D.A.V. Public School, Unit-8.
In the Odia Quiz, Sai Pratyaya Sahu and Rajalakshmi Ghadei of Raghunathjiu High School claimed the top prize.
- Runner-up (Second Place): Asima Baral and Amrita Guru of S.S.V.M. Nayabazar.
- Third Place: Somprayas Maharana and Sai Satyajit Sahu of Secondary Board High School.
Innovative Format and Future Plans
The quiz was praised for its unique and engaging format, which included audio-visual rounds, buzzer rounds, and interactive audience segments. This modern approach was designed to make quizzing more fun and accessible for all participants. The event was organized by Nalanda Public School in association with Team Quizard and Team White Canvas.
Guests at the event, including Cuttack Mayor Shri Subash Singh, lauded the organizers for the innovative format and expressed their hope that the competition would be taken to a national level in the future. The success of the event, which was the result of two months of tireless work by the organizing committee, has set a new benchmark for school-level quizzing in the region.
