Bhubaneswar, April 11: Delhi Police has arrested a youth from Bhubaneswar over alleged links to anti-national activities. The accused, identified as Sheikh Imran, was picked up by a special team from the Unit-6 area under the jurisdiction of Capital Police Station Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, the arrest was made following specific intelligence inputs. The Special Branch team detained him from a government quarter in Unit-6. He is suspected to have been spreading anti-national content through social media platforms.
Preliminary reports indicate possible links between the accused and a Pakistan-based terror outfit, though officials are yet to confirm details. After his arrest on Friday, he was produced before the SDJM court in Bhubaneswar and later taken to Delhi for further interrogation.
Delhi Police has not issued an official statement so far. More details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
