Supreme Court Directs CBI, MP Govt to Submit Probe Details in Vyapam Scam

New Delhi, March 26: The Supreme Court has sharply criticized the CBI and Madhya Pradesh government for their handling of the Vyapam scam investigation. It has ordered both parties to submit detailed reports on the progress of the probe and the charge sheets filed so far. The court also requested an affidavit explaining the inclusion of a 320-page complaint by petitioner Paras Saklecha in the investigation and charge sheets.

The court expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of a satisfactory response from the CBI and state government, despite earlier notices. A bench, led by Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice N.V. Anjaria, directed both to file affidavits on the investigation's status. The next hearing is scheduled for April 16.

Saklecha had filed a complaint in 2014, alleging irregularities in the Vyapam exams, but claimed the investigation ignored key facts. The Madhya Pradesh High Court had dismissed his petition, and his appeal to the Supreme Court followed. The Vyapam scam, exposed in 2014, revealed widespread irregularities in recruitment exams across various departments in Madhya Pradesh.
