Puri, June 26: Renowned international sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a six-foot-tall sand sculpture on Puri Beach to express solidarity with the people of Venezuela following the devastating earthquake that struck the country.
The sculpture carries a powerful message of compassion and hope, prominently displaying the words, "Prayers For Venezuela – Help the Victims," as a tribute to those affected by the disaster.
Sharing images of the artwork on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Pattnaik wrote, "Heartfelt prayers and solidarity with the people of #Venezuela affected by the devastating #earthquake. Through my sand sculpture at Puri Beach, Odisha, I share a message of compassion and hope."
Through the artistic tribute, Pattnaik conveyed his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and offered prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured and displaced by the earthquake.
The sand sculpture was created with the support of students from the Sudarsan Sand Art Institute, who assisted in bringing the humanitarian message to life.
Expressing his concern, Pattnaik said, "My heartfelt prayers are with the people of Venezuela during this difficult time. Through this sand art, I express solidarity with the victims and their families. May they find strength, hope, and support."
Widely acclaimed for using sand art to highlight humanitarian, social, and environmental causes, Pattnaik has represented India at more than 65 international sand sculpture championships and festivals worldwide. His thought-provoking creations have earned him numerous prestigious awards and global recognition.
