Bhubaneswar, May 28: The state government has revised the monthly vehicle allowance for ministers and senior government officials, marking the first such hike in nearly six years. The Finance Department has issued a formal notification reflecting the updated expenditure limits.
As per the revised rates, ministers will now receive a monthly vehicle allowance of ₹50,400. District Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs) will be entitled to ₹44,400 per month.
The allowance for block-level, tehsil, and field officers has also been increased to ₹37,200. Meanwhile, Principal Secretaries will now receive ₹36,000, and Independent Secretaries will be entitled to ₹31,200.
The revision also includes an increase in the approved rental charges for private vehicles used by ministers, officials, and VVIPs. The updated rates reflect the government’s decision to align allowances with current market conditions and operational needs.
