Speeding Hayabusa at 140 kmph rams car in Telangana killing five

Five victims perish in horrific high-speed Telangana bike collision.

Tragedy struck Mahabubnagar early Monday when a high-end Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle, reportedly traveling at 140 kmph, slammed into a car, resulting in five deaths. The victims include the motorcycle rider, his passenger, and three people seated in the rear of the car. Among those who lost their lives were two young children, aged seven and 18 months, and a 31-year-old woman.

Collision at Palakonda Junction

Local authorities stated the incident occurred at approximately 1 am at the Palakonda junction on the Mahabubnagar bypass road. The car was attempting a U-turn when the speeding motorcycle, arriving from the direction of Hyderabad, crashed into its rear section with extreme force. The impact was so violent that the back of the car was completely crushed, killing the rear-seat passengers instantly.

Racing Concerns on Highway

Local residents have frequently raised alarms regarding young racing enthusiasts using the Mahabubnagar bypass as a high-speed track during late-night hours. This specific stretch has become notorious for illegal racing activities, mirroring similar safety concerns seen on the Puri-Konark Marine Drive in Odisha, where high-speed biking often leads to severe casualties.

Police Investigation Underway

Mahabubnagar Rural police have identified one of the deceased riders as a 25-year-old resident of Hyderabad. While the motorcycle is registered in Haryana, investigators are currently verifying the identity of the second rider. One woman who survived the initial impact remains in critical condition at a local hospital. Officials are examining if the lack of street lighting at the junction contributed to the inability of the bike rider to spot the turning vehicle in time.
