Bhubaneswar, May 27: The southwest monsoon is steadily advancing across the country. On Monday, it reached most parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, along with several regions in Karnataka, Telangana, and parts of Andhra Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland, and Assam.
According to Dr. Sarat Sahu, Director of the Center for Climate and Environment at SOA University, the monsoon is likely to arrive in Odisha by May 28 or 29.
A low-pressure area is expected to develop over the west-central and adjoining northern Bay of Bengal on Tuesday. As a result, moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast in coastal and northern Odisha, especially in Sundargarh and Deogarh districts. Continued rainfall is expected to help the monsoon fully establish across Odisha by the 29th, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
