Bhubaneswar, May 1: In light of recent incidents and concerns over potential law and order disturbances, security has been tightened across Odisha's Eastern Range, with heightened alert in Balasore and Bhadrak districts, informed Dr Satyajit Naik, DIG, Eastern Range.
Police forces have been directed to remain vigilant, especially in communally sensitive areas, to maintain peace and prevent any untoward incidents. Authorities are proactively working to address possible threats and ensure communal harmony.
Patrolling has been intensified, and strict surveillance is being maintained on suspected mischief-makers and anti-social elements. The police are following the Ministry of Home Affairs' 2008 guidelines on communal harmony, with field personnel sensitized to respond swiftly to any emerging issues, especially during protests, said Dr Satyajit Naik
Special security arrangements have also been implemented, including blocking, naka points, and mobile checking at key locations. In the Balasore district, these include:
Balasore Town PS: Balighat Chhak, Mirza Pokhari Chhak, Kadra Mahadev Temple Chhak, and Madua Mill Chhak
Sahadevkhunta PS: Haripur Chhak, Ananda Bazar Chhak, and Nuasahi Chhak
Chandipur PS: New DRDO Chhak, Sonapur Chhak, and Nua Sadak Road
Balaramagada PS: Pathanibas Chhak
Special attention is also being given to the DRDO areas under the jurisdiction of Chandipur and Soro police stations.
The Odisha Police remains on high alert to uphold public safety and communal peace across the region.
