Puri, May 26: The Shri Jagannath Temple Administration in line with the Srimandir Management Committee on Monday finalized the schedule for the Rath Yatra 2025 in Puri.
The meeting chaired by Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb worked out on the itinerary for the annual Rath Yatra scheduled on June 27, the Bahuda Yatra slated to be held on July 5 and the allied key rituals essentially performed ahead of the annual sojourn of the deities.
The key officials of SJTA here discussed on the daily and key rituals which are associated with the Rath Yatra and the Bahuda.
The Mangala Arati on the Rath Yatra will commence at 6 am, followed by the Rath Pratishtha rituals,that will be completed by 9 am on the day.
The 'Pahandi Bije' procession is set to start around 9:30 am and will be completed by 12:30 pm.
Similarly, the 'Chhera Panhara', ceremonial sweeping atop the chariots by the Gajapati King, will take place between 2:30pm to 3 pm.
Following this, the much cherished chariots pulling will then be pulled from 4 pm by the devotees led by key servitors’ teams.
The Deva Snana Purnima rituals set for June 11. The popular 'Hati Besha' or Elephant attire of the deities will occur at 4.30 pm.
Similarly, on the occasion of Bahuda Yatra, the chariot pulling is scheduled to start by 4 pm.
Apart from the prime schedule finalized for the Rath Yatra and Bahuda, the time table for the daily rituals and the Snana Purnima related rituals including the Anasara Ghara, Mailama, Usadhalagi rituals among other, were also finalized in the meeting.
