Indian boxers dominated CWG 2026 with three gold medals

Bhiwani native Sakshi Chaudhary secured India third gold medal in boxing at CWG 2026 on Saturday. She defeated Ruby White in the women 51kg final. This impressive victory halted her opponent incredible 68-match unbeaten streak. The 22-year-old Indian boxer won by a unanimous 5-0 decision. She had already won her previous three matches in these games with the exact same 5-0 scoreline. This win marks the fourth overall boxing medal for India at the current games. Indian boxers have consistently performed well at international events, building upon a strong national sporting infrastructure.

Unstoppable Performances by Female Boxers

Preeti Pawar delivered the first gold medal of the day for India. The World No. 3 bantamweight boxer won the women 54kg event. She defeated Scarlett Delgado from Canada with a perfect 5-0 score. Pawar dominated the opening round completely. All five judges scored that round 10-8 in her favour. She maintained this positive momentum into the second round to seal the match.

Reigning Champions Prove Their Worth

Jaismine Lamboria also claimed gold in the women 57kg category. She faced defending champion Michaela Walsh from Northern Ireland. Lamboria won with a 5-0 scoreline as well. She secured a split verdict in the close first round. She then landed several hard blows to win the second round by a unanimous verdict.

Silver Medal Finish for Men Division

Jadumani Singh earned a silver medal in the men 55kg division. He lost his final bout 0-5 to Australian Jye Dixon. Singh fought hard against his taller opponent to win the first round 3-2. Dixon then fought back brilliantly to take the second round 5-0. Singh had previously defeated Philip Haoseb of Namibia 5-0 on Friday to reach this final round.
