Bhubaneswar,Dec 1: Odisha Vigilance on Friday arrested RWS&S Junior Engineer(JE) Sunil Kumar Padhy on the charges of accumulating disproportionate assets (DA).
Sources said, the Vigilance sleuths unearthed a huge amount of unaccounted cash and a huge possession of properties during simultaneous house searches at five locations linked to JE of RWS&S Sunil Kumar Padhy.
Vigilance seized Rs 3.40 lakh cash during the search. Along with that, the sleuths later unearthed a triple storeyed building worth Rs 1.10 crore in Bhubaneswar and one market complex in Ganjam in the name of Padhy and his family members.
Padhy who had fled from his residence at Jagamara, Bhubaneswar, was traced after a while by the team of Odisha Vigilance.
Padhy was taken to the custody, after a disproportinate asset (DA) case was registered against him, said a vigilance official.
