Keonjhar, May 17: Police on Friday seized unaccounted cash worth Rs 7 lakh from a motorcycle and detained one person in this connection. Badbil police seized the money during the blocking checking at Kiriburu square in Odisha’s Keonjhar district. 

As the detained person failed to give a satisfactory reply about the sources of the cash and where it was being taken, police seized the money and started investigation to trace to trail.

In a separate incident, the Flying Squad intercepted a vehicle belonging to a contractor from Jajpur. Upon inspection, Rs 85,000 in cash was discovered. The contractor, Narayan Behera, failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the cash in his possession. Consequently, the amount was deposited in the government treasury.
