Puri, Dec 13: Repair or the Ratna Bhandar in Puri Srimandir will begin from the inner chamber.
The Shri Jagannath Temple Administration informed it on Friday.
Following the Srimadir Management meeting with the Servitors’ Nijog, it was resolved that the repair work of the treasure trove will be first undertaken from the inner Ratna Bhandar.
As the gems and jewel are yet in the temporary treasury at the Seja Ghara, immediate repair work of the inner Ratna Bhandar will help then come to their right place.
After the completion on the repair work in the inner Ratna Bhandar the outer chamber will be repaired so as to treasure the things stored inside it earlier, would get their righteous place, said an SJTA official.
Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Deputy Superintendent Chittaranjan Das on Friday said that Ratna Bhandar repair work will be handled by a technical team involving scientific methods with a sustainable approach. The team will operate in line with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of the temple administration and the daily rituals of the deities.
Worth mentioning, Ratna Bhandar repair work will begin from December 16 which will continue to an indefinite period. As per the resolution laid down in the Management Committee meeting, the repair work will be conducted during 12.30- 6PM regularly till the completion of the project.
