Puri, May 11: The inventory process of the Ratna Bhandar of the Shree Jagannath Temple will resume from today after remaining suspended for a few days due to the Bahara Chandan Yatra rituals and other reasons. The counting and verification of valuables inside the inner Ratna Bhandar will continue on May 11 and 12 as per the previously approved SOP, informed Shree Mandir Chief Administrator Dr. Aravind Padhee.
Earlier, the inventory work had continued for nine days, with counting inside the inner treasury carried out for four days. More than 120 types of jeweled ornaments have already been counted, and nearly 20 percent of the inventory process has been completed so far.
With the commencement of the Bhitara Chandan Yatra rituals from Monday, the Ratna Bhandar counting process will begin only after completion of the deities’ Jatabhoga and Madhyahna Dhupa rituals. As a result, devotees’ darshan from the Bhitara Katha area will remain restricted from 4 PM till the completion of Sandhya Dhupa rituals.
Temple authorities said the daily rituals of the deities will continue uninterrupted during the inventory process. Authorized Palia servitors will be allowed entry into the Jagamohan and sanctum sanctorum for performing rituals. Considering strict security arrangements, devotees will be permitted darshan only from the Bahara Katha area during the specified hours on counting days.
