Sasaram (Bihar), August 17: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday alleged that the Election Commission, in collusion with the BJP, is attempting to manipulate electoral rolls in Bihar to “steal” the upcoming Assembly polls.
Speaking at the launch of his 1,300 km Voter Adhikar Yatra covering more than 20 districts, Gandhi claimed that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls was being misused for large-scale voter additions and deletions.
“The entire country now knows that elections are being stolen. Their last conspiracy is happening in Bihar, where they want to alter voter lists through SIR,” Gandhi said, vowing that the INDIA bloc would not allow the alleged plot to succeed.
He further pointed out that after his press conference on “vote chori,” he was asked to submit an affidavit, while BJP leaders making similar claims faced no such scrutiny.
