During the initial trial phase, the facility will be available to 50 elderly and disabled devotees per day through online registration and the mobile app.
The administration is also considering deploying trained volunteers from the Indian Red Cross Society and St John Ambulance. The Chief Administrator has written to the Puri Collector, who is also the chairman of the District Red Cross Society, seeking trained volunteers for the initiative.
Focus on accessible darshan
Dr Padhee said ensuring smooth darshan of the Chaturdha Murti for all devotees remains a priority of the temple administration.
Meanwhile, Sri Gundicha Temple was opened to the public on September 30. Arrangements have been made by the temple, district and police administrations for orderly darshan.
At Gundicha Temple too, free darshan, wheelchairs, volunteers and a ramp at the Natamandap have been arranged for elderly and disabled devotees.
