Bhubaneswar, Sep 20: Punjab & Sind Bank has unveiled ambitious plans to expand its branch network and operational infrastructure across Odisha.
During a courtesy meeting with Manoj Ahuja, Chief Secretary, Ravi Mehra, Executive Director of Punjab & Sind Bank, outlined the bank’s roadmap for expansion in the region.
Mehra informed that the bank, which currently operates 30 branches in Odisha, is set to open 20 new branches in the Financial Year 2025–26, along with the establishment of a Zonal Office in Bhubaneswar.
“The Board of the Bank has already approved the Zonal Office, which will serve as a key operational hub, enabling us to deliver more efficient and localized services across the State,” Mehra stated.
The expansion is part of the Bank’s broader strategy to enhance accessibility to banking services and promote financial inclusion in Odisha, especially in underserved and rural areas. Mehra emphasized that the upcoming branches will help in better implementation and support of government-backed financial initiatives.
Punjab & Sind Bank has been playing an active role in supporting key sectors such as agriculture, MSMEs, food processing, and self-help groups (SHGs) through tailored financial products and services. Mehra assured that this support will be significantly scaled up as part of the bank’s growing presence in the state.
Reaffirming the Bank’s alignment with Odisha’s development goals, Mehra expressed full commitment to the vision of “Viksit Odisha 2036” and “Viksit Bharat 2047”, asserting that Punjab & Sind Bank will be an active partner in realizing these targets.
