Prices of commercial LPG cylinders hiked by Rs 15.50, check details

New Delhi, Oct 1: Ahead of the festive season, oil marketing companies announced a fresh hike in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders, effective from Wednesday (October 1).

According to the revised pricing, the cost of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 15.50. In Delhi, the new retail price for the cylinder now stands at Rs 1,595.50. Similar price adjustments have been made across other major metropolitan areas, although final prices may vary slightly depending on local taxes and transportation charges.

The move is expected to add pressure to businesses that rely heavily on cooking gas, including hotels, restaurants, and catering services.

In a relief to households, the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged. This means there will be no immediate impact on domestic cooking gas budgets despite the hike on the commercial front.

The latest revision is expected to directly affect commercial establishments that use LPG in daily operations. Industry insiders warn that eateries, small restaurants, hotels, and catering units may face increased operational costs due to the hike.

Experts suggest that some of this cost burden may eventually be passed on to consumers in the form of higher food and service prices.

It is worth noting that the LPG prices are typically reviewed at the beginning of each month by oil marketing companies. These revisions are based on global crude oil prices, international LPG rates, and currency exchange fluctuations.

This hike continues the trend of earlier adjustments this year, underscoring how commercial LPG users remain vulnerable to changes in the global energy market.
