​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, Sept 4: Popular Odia music director Abhijit Majumdar, who was previously undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack for liver-related complications, has been shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar in critical condition today.

As per reports, Abhijit Majumdar’s health showed no signs of improvement during his treatment at the private hospital. As his condition worsened further, he was shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar today in an ambulance with ventilator support.

Earlier on August 31, the musician was admitted to the ICU of a hospital in Cuttack’s CDA area after developing serious health complications.

He had reportedly fallen ill while performing at music programmes during the Ganesh Puja celebrations on August 27. A potassium deficiency was reported as one of the contributing factors to his condition.

It is worth noting that Abhijit Majumdar is one of Odisha’s most renowned music composers, known for his vast contribution to the regional music and film industry. He has composed over 700 songs for music albums, as well as for Odia and Sambalpuri films.

Some of his most popular works include the soundtracks of Love Story, Sister Sridevi, Golmaal Love, Sundargarh Ra Salman Khan, and Sriman Surdas.
