PM Modi Urges Teachers to Help Students Combat Drug Addiction, Excessive Screen Time

New Delhi, September 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on teachers to remain vigilant about drug addiction among students and help children overcome excessive screen time by encouraging sports, physical activities and creative pursuits.

Interacting with national award-winning teachers on Friday, on the eve of Teachers' Day, Modi emphasised the need to protect childhood and nurture children's natural curiosity and creativity.

The Prime Minister urged teachers to adopt innovative methods to make classroom learning more engaging and enjoyable for students.

He also encouraged educators to promote activities that take children away from excessive dependence on digital devices and provide them with opportunities to explore, play and learn through real-world experiences.

Modi stressed that teachers have an important role in shaping children's habits and overall development, urging them to remain attentive to emerging challenges affecting students and guide them towards healthy and productive lifestyles.
