New Delhi, July 16: An Patna-bound IndiGo flight from Delhi had to perform a go-around while attempting to land at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport on Tuesday, according to sources.
As per reports, IndiGo flight 6E 2482, carrying 173 passengers, performed a go-around after an unstabilised approach on its first landing attempt. The aircraft did not touch down initially but landed safely on the second try.
Sources said the go-around was a routine safety measure taken as a precaution. “It was a normal and safe maneuver,” said a source, adding the pilot chose it to ensure a stable landing.
Go-arounds are standard procedures in aviation, used when pilots find the approach unsafe or unstable due to weather or other operational reasons.
Earlier, on July 9, IndiGo flight 6E 5009 from Patna to Delhi had to return mid-air following a bird strike, the airline’s spokesperson confirmed.
