Bhubaneswar, Dec 31: Bhubaneswar is all set to welcome residents to the much-anticipated winter morning festival, Patha Utsav. Preparations are underway under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), with efforts to make this year’s celebrations more vibrant and unique.

Today, a promotional vehicle for the festival was flagged off by Mayor Sulochana Das, Commissioner Chanchal Rana, and Cultural Standing Committee Chair Ramchandra Ransingh. Additional Commissioners Ratnakar Sahu and Kailash Chandra Das were also present during the inauguration.

According to the BMC, the first Path Utsav of 2025-26 will be held on January 4, from 6:30 AM at Master Canteen to Ram Mandir. “Taking some time off from a busy life to participate in such events can inspire people to do good in the coming days,” said Mayor Sulochana Das.

The festival promises a host of entertainment options. Audiences can enjoy songs by Antara Chakraborty, comedy by Papu Pampam, and performances including yoga, Zumba, rangoli, skating, painting, and traditional dance. In addition, the Bhubaneswar God Talent Stage will showcase local talent, offering opportunities for dance, singing, acting, and mimicry. Participation is open to all age groups.

Path Utsav also features a food market, offering a variety of delicacies. Children can enjoy face painting and other activities in the Kids’ Kingdom, while women and girls can take part in rangoli and art competitions. This year, several new attractions have been added.

The festival will run from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Upcoming events are scheduled at New Jagamara Barmunda Road on January 18 and at Infocity on February 1.
