Bhubaneswar, May 3: Padma Shri awardee and eminent neurosurgeon Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Mahapatra called on Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak, Founder President of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) and held discussion on Saturday.
The meeting took place following Prof. (Dr.) Mahapatra’s recent national recognition for his outstanding contributions in the field of medical science.
On April 28, Prof. (Dr.) Mahapatra was conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri award by the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at a special ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
A distinguished neurosurgeon of international repute, Prof. (Dr ) Mahapatra has served as the former Vice-Chancellor of SOA and currently holds the position of Chief Advisor (Health Sciences) in the university.
Previously, he held the position of Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at AIIMS, New Delhi, and was also the first Director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar. His exemplary work has earned him a place among the top five neurosurgeons globally.
During the meeting, Prof. (Dr.) Mahapatra discussed various aspects of SOA’s growth, development strategies, and academic initiatives.
Prof. (Dr.) Nayak extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Prof. (Dr.) Mahapatra on being conferred the Padma Shri.
