Dhar (Madhya Pradesh), September 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday praised the valor of Indian soldiers, asserting that they brought Pakistan "to its knees in the blink of an eye" during Operation Sindoor. His remarks came while he was addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for the Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh.
During the event, Modi also launched two important campaigns—‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar’ and the ‘8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah,’ both aimed at enhancing women’s health services and promoting better nutrition across the country.
This visit marked Modi's second trip to Madhya Pradesh on his birthday, following a special event in 2022 when he released eight cheetahs from Namibia into Kuno National Park.
In his speech, the Prime Minister took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of swadeshi (indigenous) goods. With the festival season approaching, he urged his fellow citizens to support locally made products, saying, “This is the season of festivals, and we must remember the mantra of Swadeshi. Let’s make it part of our lives.”
He added, “I humbly request my 140 crore fellow countrymen—whatever you buy, let it be made in India, bearing the sweat of an Indian worker, and carrying the fragrance of Indian soil.”
Modi also took time to recount the bravery of Indian soldiers during Operation Sindoor, which was launched in retaliation to terrorist attacks originating from Pakistan. He said, “The safety and security of Mother India is our highest priority. Terrorists who came from Pakistan tried to undermine the dignity of our daughters and sisters. In response, through Operation Sindoor, we obliterated their terror launch pads.”
“Our brave soldiers brought Pakistan to its knees in the blink of an eye,” Modi declared.
The Prime Minister also paid tribute to the leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on this day, September 17, which marks the liberation of Hyderabad in 1948. Modi remembered the resolute actions of the Indian Army that freed the people of Hyderabad from oppression and safeguarded their rights.
“We now observe this day as Hyderabad Liberation Day. Today, a grand celebration is taking place in Hyderabad to commemorate this historic occasion,” Modi said.
At the event in Dhar, the Prime Minister also took a moment to acknowledge the birthday wishes from the gathered crowd as he celebrated his 75th birthday.
