Bhubaneswar, July 26: In the aftermath of the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) question paper leak, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has transferred six officials in a disciplinary move. Those shifted include one senior officer and five section officers. However, the core issue, how the question paper was leaked remains unresolved.
The leak led to the abrupt cancellation of the OTET examination, which was held at 193 centers across the state and saw participation from nearly 75,000 teacher aspirants. The cancellation has sparked widespread criticism and raised serious questions about the integrity of the examination process.
While disciplinary action has been initiated, the BSE has not yet released any official statement clarifying who was behind the leak or how it occurred. Insiders suggest that higher authorities may be attempting to deflect blame by targeting mid- and lower-level staff.
A Crime Branch investigation is currently underway. However, even a week after the incident came to light, no significant progress has been reported. The investigating team has yet to name suspects or make any arrests, leaving candidates and the general public frustrated.
On Friday, the Board Chairman issued a formal order reassigning the six officials to different departments. Still, the lack of transparency and concrete findings has cast a shadow over the board’s credibility. The question paper leak continues to remain a mystery, with mounting pressure on authorities to bring the truth to light.
