Bhubaneswar, August 5: The Crime Branch's probe into the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) question paper leak has intensified.
The Crime Branch team has interrogated Srikant Tarai, President of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), for the fourth time in connection with the scandal.
The Crime Branch team has now focused on financial records linked to those already in custody, as well as other suspects, who are currently under scrutiny. The team has reportedly seized several documents related to the monetary transactions of the prime accused.
In a surprising revelation, it has emerged that although anomalies in the OTET exam were first noticed back in 2022, the Board never officially filed a complaint, contradicting its previous assertions.
As investigators delve deeper into the financial irregularities surrounding the case, officials have not ruled out the possibility of summoning the BSE President again for further questioning.
The expanding scope of the probe suggests the involvement of a broader network, casting a shadow over the transparency and credibility of the state's examination process.
