Cuttack, August 18: The bail hearing for all accused in the OTET (Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test) question paper leak case has been postponed, with the Cuttack Additional District Judge (ADJ) Court scheduling the next hearing for August 22.
The Odisha Crime Branch is currently leading the investigation into the high-profile leak, which has resulted in the arrest of seven individuals, including former Board Vice President Nihar Ranjan Mohanty.
In a recent development, the Crime Branch sought remand of two key accused- Bijay and Jitan. The court granted a two-day remand, during which the agency conducted separate, intensive interrogations. Sources suggest that several crucial leads have emerged from the questioning.
Despite the progress, the Crime Branch has yet to submit the case diary in court, prompting a request for more time to complete the investigation. Taking the request into account, the ADJ Court deferred the bail hearing and fixed August 22 as the date for the next proceedings.
