Delhi, May 7: The ‘Operation Sindoor’ was India’s one of the targeted interventions, aiming war against terrorism.
“During the ‘Operation Sindoor’, we followed Lord Hanuman’s way to hunting down only the evil ones who are responsible for sin, committed at the Pahalgam in J&K”, said Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh.
The Defence Minister on Wednesday praised the armed forces for carrying out precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), saying the action targeted those who killed innocent people at the Pahalgam valley on 22nd April.
"The operation Sindoor reflects not just our military precision, but also our moral restraint. In the words of Lord Hanuman: 'Jin mohi maara, tin mohi maare'. This means we struck only those who harmed our innocents," he said.
Singh said the armed forces showed sensitivity to ensure that no civilian location or civilian population was harmed in any way.
He said India exercised its 'right to respond' to the attack on its soil and said the operation was aimed at breaking the morale of the terrorists.
In the wee hours of Wednesday, the Army, Navy and Air Force - in a joint operation - carried out strikes on terror camps at nine locations across Pakistan and PoK in an operation that spanned 25 minutes. The armed forces said its response was "measured" and "non-escalatory".
Under the Operation Sindoor, the Indian military targeted Markaz Taiba of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Muridke, Markaz Subhan Allah of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in Bahawalpur and Hizbul Mujahideen's Mehmoona Joya Facility in Sialkot and LeT's base in Markaz Ahle Hadith in Barnala and its camp in Muzaffarabad's Shawai Nalla, Singh added.
