India Launches 'Operation Sindhu' to Evacuate Citizens from Israel

The Indian government has launched "Operation Sindhu," a dedicated mission to evacuate its citizens who wish to leave Israel amid the escalating conflict in the region. This decision comes just a day after a similar evacuation was initiated for Indian nationals in Iran, highlighting the government's swift response to the growing instability.

In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) outlined a two-stage process for the evacuation. Citizens will first be moved out of Israel through its land borders and then flown to India. The Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv has been tasked with making the necessary arrangements and has established a 24/7 control room to assist with queries.

The MEA has urged all Indian nationals in Israel, if they have not already done so, to register with the Embassy to facilitate the process. The government also reiterated its advisory for citizens to remain vigilant and adhere to all safety protocols issued by local authorities.

The MEA's statement affirmed that the safety and security of Indian nationals abroad remains the government's highest priority. New Delhi will continue to monitor the situation in the Middle East closely and extend all feasible assistance to its citizens in the conflict zone.
