Steady temperatures and isolated regional showers define upcoming weather

Meteorological Centre Bhubaneswar has forecast consistent day and night temperatures across Odisha for the coming week. Recent observational data confirms no significant fluctuations will occur in both maximum and minimum temperatures over the next six to seven days. Citizens can expect stable climatic conditions as the transition season approaches. This steady warmth is typical for the coastal state during early October, marking the period before the winter season fully establishes itself across the eastern seaboard.

Current temperature extremes

Recent thermal mapping over the past 24 hours highlights distinct regional variations across the state's geography. Talcher emerged as the hottest location, registering a maximum daytime temperature of 35.4 degrees Celsius. Conversely, the interior region of Phulbani experienced the coolest conditions, with minimum nighttime temperatures dropping to 19.0 degrees Celsius. Capital city Bhubaneswar maintained a persistently warm profile throughout the day, recording a maximum of 34.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24.1 degrees Celsius. Coastal monitoring stations like Paradip and Gopalpur recorded maximums of 33.3 and 32.6 degrees Celsius respectively, maintaining typical coastal weather patterns.

Expected rainfall patterns

While the vast majority of the state remains entirely dry, localized precipitation offers slight regional variations. The rainfall forecast valid until the morning of October 13 indicates isolated showers affecting less than 25 percent of specific regional monitoring stations. These highly localised rain events are expected primarily in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, and Ganjam districts. Previous 24-hour meteorological records show the Khurda district station at Banpur received a notable 30.0 mm of rainfall, while Krishnaprasad in Puri recorded 9.6 mm. Moving forward, other regions will continue experiencing a prolonged dry spell without any significant wet weather interruptions.
